About Hoikka Law

Hoikka Law P.L.L.C. is a Kalamazoo law firm providing practical legal guidance for individuals, families, fiduciaries, and property owners throughout West Michigan.

The firm assists with probate administration, guardianships and conservatorships, real estate and deed matters, estate planning, and related legal issues. Some clients come in because they want to plan ahead. Others need help with a court filing, a property transfer, a probate estate, or a legal problem that has already come up.

My goal is to help clients understand the issue, identify the next step, and move forward with clear and practical guidance.

Attorney Kody Hoikka

About Kody Hoikka

I am a West Michigan native, originally from Mattawan. I earned my undergraduate degree from Western Michigan University and my law degree from Indiana University–Bloomington.

Before founding Hoikka Law P.L.L.C., I gained experience working with estate planning, probate, and related legal matters. That experience shaped the way I approach legal work: clients need clear explanations, careful documents, practical advice, and direct communication from the attorney handling the matter.

At Hoikka Law P.L.L.C., you work directly with me. I personally handle the communication, legal analysis, drafting, and strategy for the matters I take on.

A Practical Approach to Legal Problems

Legal issues often overlap. A probate estate may involve real estate. A deed issue may affect an estate plan. A conservatorship may involve court authority, finances, benefits, property, and family responsibilities.

Rather than treating each issue as isolated, I help clients understand how the pieces fit together. In some cases, that means full representation from beginning to end. In others, it means help with a specific deed, document, court filing, fiduciary duty, or legal question.

I aim to provide advice that is clear, realistic, and suited to the situation.

What Clients Can Expect

When you contact Hoikka Law P.L.L.C., you can expect:

  • direct communication with the attorney handling your matter;

  • plain-English explanations of the process and your options;

  • careful attention to documents, deadlines, and practical details;

  • guidance based on Michigan law and local practice; and

  • a focus on solving the problem without unnecessary complication.

Legal matters can be stressful, especially when they involve family, property, court filings, or the death or incapacity of a loved one. My role is to help make the process more understandable and manageable.
